Haiti

The situation in Haiti is very sad. We all get that. But what I don't understand is why everyone is jumping to their aid yet they always fail to help their own country. I get that Haiti is a 3rd world country and does not have the means to help themselves. I think it is great that we can help others and come to their aid when they need it. My question is what about us? What about all the help that America needs. We have children stuck in homes that they need to get out of. We have children who are starving to death, living on the streets, being raped, murdered, beaten. We have families that can not make ends meet, that can not feed themselves, parents who don't have jobs, people loosing their homes. Is any one coming to our aid? We are expected to help everyone, every country, but we can not help ourselves and no other country comes to our aid. We need to help ourselves before we help other countries.
